AiWo team places in two international video recognition challenges
We’re delighted to share that AiWo researchers have achieved top rankings in two international video recognition challenges in 2026, held in conjunction with PRCV 2026 and ACM Multimedia 2026.
- 2nd place at the Smart Vending Cabinet Product-Transaction Video Recognition Challenge, PRCV 2026

Conference: 22 Aug 2026 – 25 Aug 2026, Harbin, China - 3rd place in Track 1 (Micro-Action Recognition) and 2nd place in Track 2 (Multi-label Micro-Action Detection) at the 3rd Micro-Action Analysis Grand Challenge (MAC 2026), ACM MM 2026
Challenge: https://sites.google.com/view/micro-action/overview
Conference: 10 Nov 2026 – 14 Nov 2026, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
About the challenges
The PRCV challenge asks participants to recognize which products customers take from a smart vending cabinet based on transaction videos, a practical retail task involving fast hand–object interactions and visually similar items. MAC 2026 focuses on micro-actions: subtle, spontaneous body movements that last only a moment. Track 1 classifies short micro-action clips, while Track 2 detects and localizes multiple, often overlapping micro-actions in long, untrimmed videos.
Why it matters
Both challenges test the ability to recognize brief, fine-grained human actions in real-world video, a core capability behind AiWo’s research on understanding human work in industrial settings, such as monitoring assembly steps and supporting fieldworkers with procedural guidance.
